Access to clean and reliable water is a fundamental need, especially for children living in orphanages. Our orphanage home has long depended on a traditional hand pump for its water supply. However, the current system is no longer adequate to meet the daily needs of our growing population of children and staff. To address this challenge, we are launching a fundraiser to replace the aging hand pump with a modern borehole and water tower system. This upgrade will provide consistent, safe, and sufficient water for all our residents and staff, significantly improving the quality of life at our orphanage.
Our orphanage is home to over 295 children and students from the surrounding villages and 20 staff members. The existing hand pump often breaks down, delivers water slowly, and cannot supply enough water during peak usage times. Long waits and frequent repairs disrupt our daily routines, impact hygiene, and limit our ability to ensure proper sanitation.
The proposed solution involves drilling a borehole on the orphanage grounds and installing a raised water tower. The borehole will tap into a reliable underground water source, while the water tower will store and distribute clean water throughout the facility via gravity, ensuring consistent water pressure and availability.
