Children’s Rescue Outreach International operates with a clear, compassionate mission: to empower orphans, abandoned children, and widows by addressing their most fundamental needs and helping them reclaim a life of dignity and hope. Our vision extends to building communities where every child grows up loved, educated, and healthy, and every widow is valued and supported.
There are many ways to get involved and support our cause. You can make a donation, become a volunteer, or even organize a fundraising event in your community. Whatever you choose, know that your contribution will make a difference in the lives of those in need.
Our motivation is based on James 1:27 Which States, Religion That God Our Father Accepts as Pure and Faultless is This. To Look After Orphans and Windows in Their Distress and to Keep Oneself from Being Polluted by The World
In 1998, Lucy’s visit to Liberia became a catalyst for hope amid the nation’s challenges. Recognizing the plight of orphans, needy children, and widows in Owensgrove, she called upon a local women’s group to join hands and work in unity. Lucy believed that through collective action and prayer, ordinary people could profoundly impact the lives of the vulnerable, fostering resilience and renewal in a country scared by civil unrest.
This partnership laid the groundwork for what would become Children’s Rescue Outreach International (CROI). Today, CROI owns five acres of land in Grand Bassa County, Compound #1, where its commitment to vulnerable children has taken tangible form. Over time, the organization has built two dormitories dedicated to boys and girls, a school providing education and opportunity, a Mimi Clinic delivering healthcare, and a church offering spiritual guidance and community service.
Lucy’s encouragement and faith in the power of unity continue to echo through CROI’s efforts. The organization now stands as a beacon of hope, demonstrating how compassion, collaboration, and steadfast purpose can transform adversity into a future full of promise for Liberia’s children.
